Thanks, exactly what I've been trying to figure out how to do, can't believe they make such a simple thing so difficult.

Does not work in Outlook 2016. Opens up a new calendar entry, but does not automatically copy the people on the email to the attendees list. What good is a meeting if none of the people except you are in it?

Or just click and drag the email to the calendar button at the bottom

Or in Outlook 2013, you can set up "Quick Steps" to make this super easy:
    Go to inbox
  • Right click item
  • Select "Quick Steps > New Quick Step > Custom
Select "Quick Steps > New Quick Step
  • Name: New Appointment
  • Action: Create Appointment with text of message
  • Press "Finish"
Now that it's set up, in the future you can right click an email message, select "Quick Steps" and then "New Appointment". The calendar will open with the body of the email in the body of the calendar item. Adjust the date/time as needed and you're done.

Can I create a quick step to add it to another Outlook calendar I have?

Is there a way to do this so it will maintain the attachments from the email

From what I have experienced, email attachments will not stay with the email that you have copied to the calendar. You can drag and drop them to the appointment once you have set it up.

Sorry, not sure if you figured this out yet but you can just drag and drop the attachment from the original email to the meeting invite.
